About

Lesley Luce is an emerging Canadian mixed-media artist. She creates large-scale works using concentric circles built from thousands of carefully placed paper pieces. Her art blends abstraction with storytelling, drawing on themes of Canadian history, music, and culture. Lesley’s layered compositions invite viewers to look closer and uncover hidden icons and personal meaning.

Her background in design and storytelling shapes her process, and her work has been shown at The Artist Project Toronto and the Elaine Fleck Gallery. She began her formal art practice in her 40s as a return to her creative roots. Lesley lives in Toronto’s Beaches neighbourhood, where she works out of her home studio filled with antiques and her cherished ’90s record collection.

“It’s important for me that my audience is
captivated from afar and intrigued up close.”

Process

Lesley Luce’s artistic process is both meticulous and intuitive—blending digital design with hand-assembled craftsmanship. Each piece begins with a spark of curiosity and unfolds through research, planning, and thousands of carefully placed paper fragments. The result is a layered visual experience that invites viewers to look closer and uncover stories hidden in plain sight. Below is a breakdown of how her work comes to life, from first idea to final detail.
